Sir Ritchie passed away on October 12, 2011 at his home in New Jersey, where he lived alone.
The Digital Technology world will be indebted to him for life because of his creations and contribution.
Here are some of his quotes, links, photos.. My tiny effort to pay homage to 'The Genius"

"I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the demigodic party"

"Obviously, the person who had most influence on my career was Ken Thompson"

"UNIX is basically a simple operating system, but you have to be a genius to understand the simplicity"

"I fix things now and then, more often tweak HTML and make scripts to do things"

Swami

Stand up, be bold, be strong.
Take the whole responsibility on your shoulders,
and know that you are the creator of your own destiny.
~
It is the coward and the fool who says, "This is fate" - so says the Sanskrit proverb. But it is the strong man who stands up and says - "I will make my fate".
~
Strength is life; weakness is death.
Strength is felicity, life eternal, immortal; weakness is constant strain and misery; weakness is death.
~
Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject as poison; there is no life in it, it can not be true. Truth is strengthening. Truth is purity, truth is all knowledge.
