I have two words to start with - 'Butter Smooth'.
The latest phone from +Google's +Nexus family is LG manufactured Nexus 4. It runs latest +Android 4.2.1 on most advanced hardware configuration. It has sleek body design, beautiful 4.7" IPS display, 2100mh battery & Google's Nexus branding to along all of this. I have owned this phone for almost 3 weeks now and here is my experience with it.
Delta -
I was using HTC's Tattoo for four long years before getting Nexus 4. So upgrade delta was huge in my case. Improvement on almost all, sorry. ALL aspects was more than welcome.
Look and feel -
Nexus 4 has a beautiful sleek body design with curved corners and smooth edges. Glass on front and back gives it a solid feel while holding in hand. It feels slightly heavier compared to say Galaxy S3 but there is nothing to complain about in it.
Software -
Android 4.2.1 aka Jelly Bean is just butter smooth. It's like dream come true for an Android fan who wished for the iPhone like smoothness in past Android versions. Features like Google Now, Lock Screen apps, Daydream, Face unlock make it a solid upgrade over ICS. Everything in Jelly Bean feels fast, fluid, and smooth. Moving between home screens and switching between apps is effortless, like turning the pages of a book. Jelly Bean has more reactive and uniform touch responses, and makes Nexus 4 even more responsive by boosting it’s CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don’t need it to improve battery life. Jelly Bean improves performance throughout the system, including faster orientation changes, quicker switching between recent apps, and smoother and more consistent rendering across the system through vsync and triple buffering.
Swype keyboard works very well for smooth, fast typing. The flying animation as you move finger across keyboard gives it a much more lively feel that should appeal to touch
Hardware -
LG's Nexus 4 runs on a powerful Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon Quad Core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It has Adreno 320 GPU to render graphics. Non-removable Li-Po 2100 mAh battery powers these juice hungry silicon chips which lasts at least a day for a moderate user. This combination of CPU & GPU makes sure that you don't see a slightest lag or delay on your phone whether you are browsing internet, playing games or just typing messages, reading new/weather, facebook, twitter, emails or absolutely anything. 8/16 GB storage, 2 GB RAM is more than sufficient to run multiple applications at the same time without a stutter.
Display -
True HD IPS Plus display is just beautiful to look at. The colors look real & lively even under bright lighting condition. ~318 ppi pixel density leaves no reason for complain in terms of clarity & crispness. You can read text very easily either on browser webpage or on any native apps. Auto brightness setting allows you to maintain balance between screen brightness and battery life in hassle free manner.
Camera -
Nexus 4 has 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash primary camera which can record 1080p video @30fps. The images captured by it's camera are crisp & clear. I love the HDR mode in it which gives best results indoors. Have a look at some of the images captured. It also has a 1.3 MP secondary camera for video calls.
The PhotoSphere feature in Jelly Bean is outstanding. It creates an awesome 3D experience by extending panaroma concept to 360 degrees. I have captured number of photospheres using my Nexus 4, Here is an example.
Summary -
Overall the combination of elegant / sturdy design, power packed features, smoothest UI ever, powerhouse CPU/GPU in the Nexus 4 makes it a great smartphone. It's a pleasure to use this device and proudly show off to your friends. :-)
